Long Distance Calling Plans
Presented below are details on the most popular calling plans available
to MACC clients through our turnkey Long Distance Resale service.
Buy Down or One Rate
A Buy Down or One Rate plan applies a special per minute rate. Charging
a flat monthly charge for receiving the special rate is optional. The
special per minute rate is applied to each qualifying message.
Block of Time
A Block of Time plan applies a block of minutes for free. Charging a
flat monthly charge for receiving the free minutes is optional. This block
of minutes is referred to as a threshold. Once a customer reaches the
threshold, additional calls can be rated at a special per minute rate.
This special per minute rate is referred to as the overtime rate.
Block of Time with Wide Area Calling
A Block of Time with a Wide area calling applies a block of minutes for
free on a calling area defined by specific routes (from NPA-NXX to NPA-NXX)
or mileage radius. Special rates can also be applied to calls within and
outside the defined calling area. Charging a flat monthly charge for
receiving the free minutes is optional.
Wide Area Calling
A wide area calling plan applies a special per minute rate to calls
made within a calling area defined by specific routes (from NPA-NXX to
NPA-NXX) or mileage radius. Charging a flat monthly charge for receiving
the special rate is optional. The special per minute rate is applied to
each qualifying message.
One Rate Volume Discount
One Rate Volume plans apply a rate to each qualifying messages based
upon the total charge amount or minutes of all qualifying messages.
Charging a flat monthly charge for receiving the special rate is optional.
For example, a company can reward a customer that uses a specified amount
of minutes or dollars, with a better rate per minute than a customer that
uses less minutes or dollars. To do this, the charge amount or minutes of
the messages that qualify for the plan are accumulated. The total charge
amount or minutes are compared to the plan tier levels that the company
sets up to determine what rate per minute the customer has “earned”.
Tiered Volume Discount
A Tiered Volume Discount plans apply a discount rate to each tier level
of toll as defined by the company. Charging a flat monthly charge for
receiving the special rate is optional. The tier amounts are based on
charge amount only. The volume discount is based on the accumulated toll
amount on each tier level. The customer must meet the first tier level
before calls in the next tier level can be discounted by that tiers rate.
Volume Discount
A Volume Discount applies a discount percentage based upon total
threshold of charge amount or minutes of all qualifying messages. Charging
a flat monthly charge for receiving the special rate is optional. To do
this, the charge amount or minutes of the messages that qualify for the
plan are accumulated. The total charge amount or minutes are compared to
the threshold tier levels that the company sets up to determine what
percentage discount rate the customer has “earned”. For each jurisdiction,
the discount percentage is multiplied by the qualifying toll amount to
give the discount amount.
Percent Discount
A Percent Discount applies a set percent discount amount to each
qualifying message. Charging a flat monthly charge for receiving the
special rate is optional. Each qualifying message is displayed on the bill
with the percent discount applied. A plan summary is printed at each
jurisdiction break.
Block of Time W/Wide Area Calling and Rate Periods
A Block of Time with a Wide area calling applies a block of minutes for
free or a special rate on a calling area defined by specific routes (from
NPA-NXX to NPA-NXX) or mileage radius and rate periods. Special rates can
also be applied to calls outside the defined calling area and rate
periods. Charging a flat monthly charge for receiving the free minutes is
optional.
The block of minutes is referred to as a threshold. Once a customer
reaches the threshold, additional calls within the calling area and rate
periods are rated at a special per minute rate called the overtime rate. |
