MACC is Awarded The Gateway
Development Corporation's
Growth in Prosperity Award for 2006
(Friday, November 10, 2006) Blair, NE – Mid America Computer
Corporation (MACC) was honored with the Gateway Development
Corporation’s Growth in Prosperity Award for 2006. The Growth in
Prosperity Award honors a local company and its industry for enhancing
economic development and the stability of the county with expansion
and/or improvement.
MACC is a billing solutions company that offers a variety of services
and front office software to providers of telephone, cable television,
Internet, and wireless service. The company has been serving the
telecommunications industry for more than three decades.
“This is a tremendous honor for MACC,” said Rod Christenson, MACC’s
President. “We’re thrilled that our efforts over the last year have
created additional jobs and we have every intention of developing new
business which could lead to a continued need for new associates.”
By acquiring new customers and providing outstanding care to existing
clients, he said the Mid America Computer Corporation enjoyed the most
successful year in its history. MACC added 28 new full-time positions to
its operations in 2006 after signing the largest client in the history
of the company in November of 2005. As the company has done in the past,
Christenson said MACC looked to local Washington County residents first
to fill these positions with 79% of its new employees currently living
within the county.
“Washington County is filled with bright, hard working people,” he said.
“Having this talented local workforce is one of the reasons we believe
we’ve been so successful.”
Today, MACC employees 230 people at its Blair facility. MACC’s customers
are located in 40 states across the U.S. This past spring, MACC once
again set customer service records with its clients by obtaining a 4.34
average for customer service out of a possible 5.0 score. MACC continues
to be involved with all state telecommunications associations, plus many
national and regional associations.
